Mutiny is a multiplayer pirate themed action game for 1-4 players, where you battle enemy pirates intent on stealing your treasures and sinking your ship before you can reach your island paradise.

You must work with your crewmates to defend your ship and keep it afloat under the enemy barrage, repairing damage and collecting loot from enemies as you go.

But you’ll have to watch your back! Since the Captain gets the biggest cut of the riches after the battle, everyone is aiming to become Captain themselves, and you’ll be battling your own crew as much as your enemies!

Captain or not, the pirate with the biggest pile of gold wins at the end of the voyage!

The Savage Sea

The Savage Sea

The Savage Sea

Mutiny! takes place in a world of avarice and adventure, where pirates rule the waters and there’s water everywhere! The seas are divided into territories, and each territory is controlled by a pirate clan. You must navigate your way through enemy territories to get to your island haven and secure your riches as soon as possible.

You are a member of the surviving crew of Captain Fatbeard, who has led you into ruin by stealing the fabled MacGuffin from the fearsome Grimwald pirates before being overthrown, leaving you to escape to safety before you’re caught.

You must work with your crew to keep your ship afloat while in enemy territory, if the ship sinks you all lose!
While doing that, your goal is to become the richest pirate on the seas by collecting more gold than your crewmates, and the best way to get gold is to become the Captain, since the Captain gets the biggest share of the ship’s loot. Being Captain isnt easy though, since your crew are likely to Mutiny!

Mutiny means you can be overthrown as Captain, so you’ll have to fight off your own crew, and the enemies attacking the ship, AND make sure your ship doesn’t sink.

It's tough at the top!

Pirates!

Pirates!

Pirates!

Take control of a scoundrel pirate, and gather riches by any means necessary!

As a pirate you have a number of abilities:

  • Running (very useful)
  • Fighting (with a variety of weapons)
  • Repairing (hammers fix everything)
  • Collecting (love that loot!)

You can use these skills to try and become Captain of the ship, which makes you bigger, stronger, tougher, and gives you better loot, and loot is the aim of the game, since the pirate with the most Golden Groats at the end of the journey will be crowned King of the Sea.

Groats can be collected from defeated enemies, plundered chests, and a few other places as you battle your way through enemy territory. Any groats grabbed by the crew go into the ship’s treasure hoard, and is only shared out once a territory is cleared, with the Captain getting the biggest cut of the riches collected.

Groats are spent on weapons, repairs, and upgrades to make you or your ship more of a force to be reckoned with!

Treachery!

Treachery!

Treachery!

When Mutiny is the name of the game, you know you'll have to watch your back!
You’ll be watching your back at all times as the crew try to claim Captaincy for themselves.
As you play the Mutiny Meter will rise or fall depending on how the Captain and crew are performing as a team. If the captain doesn't get involved in the action, or mistreats the crew, they will become hostile and the meter will rise.

When the meter is low you’ll have to wait for the opportune moment to try and snatch the captain’s hat for yourself, but when the meter fills Mutiny! will be triggered and the crew can attack the captain directly to try and overthrow them and seize power for themselves.

However, the captain is large and in charge, so it won’t be easy!

Fighting with each other is all well and good, but your ship is your home, and you must take care of it.
If the ship sinks its game over for everyone, so you have to work together to make sure that doesn't happen.

Combat!

You’ll be under attack from enemy ships full of enemy pirates who want to kill you, steal your treasure, and sink your ship. Don't let them!
If your ship takes heavy damage it will start to take on water and you’ll have a limited time to repair the damage before you sink

Ships have a number of features that you’ll need to master to keep your ship afloat and be an effective pirate crew.

  • Cannons
  • Wheel
  • Fishing Nets
  • Bilge Pump
  • Treasure Chest
  • Rigging

If the enemy ship gets too close, you’ll be boarded by enemy pirates, so grab a weapon and start pummeling!
Weapons deal damage and knockback, and different weapons cause each in different amounts, some may even damage you, so choose wisely.

The enemies you will face will be warriors, thieves, and saboteurs, and each require different tactics to deal with. You may even face off against enemy Captains, who are just as tough as your own, so beware!

Progress so far...

Progress so far...

Progress so far...

Mutiny! is currently in development and is evolving every day.
You can read how Mutiny is progressing in our dev blog, and by following us on facebook, twitter, google+, and the rest.

Mutiny was inspired by the sense of competition and interplay we felt from playing Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros., Little Big Planet, Spaceteam, Bomberman, and many more.

We have lots of plans for the game, how much of it gets built will largely depend on how much interest there is, and whether we can secure funding to bring it to life.

We are looking at doing a KickStarter in the near future to get a better idea of how grand a game Mutiny will end up overall, and determine how many additional features we can cram into it.

Mutiny is being built using Unity and Blender, because they are excellent.

We don't know exactly what the future holds for Mutiny, but with your help and a good wind behind us, it will be awesome!
